Specialist Programs

Religious Education underpins all of the arrangements we make for children’s learning at Sacred Heart and so is an integral inclusion in our total curriculum.

Our school curriculum aims to provide each student with the capacity to:

  • Manage themselves as individuals and in relation to others
  • Understand the world in which they live
  • Act effectively in the world

The AusVELS are the guiding documents for all Victorian schools. They allow us to develop and integrated approach to curriculum planning and implementation. These frameworks allow for, and encourage, the variety of assessment and reporting procedures currently in use at Sacred Heart.

We have many effective educational programs due to the commitment of a team of professionals who possess the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to meet the variety of needs of the children.

Currently Sacred Heart offers specialist classes in:

Library / Information Technology and Communication Skills
LOTE (Indonesian)
Performing Arts
Physical Education
Visual Arts

Our curriculum caters for student’s individualised learning, including extension or intervention, through designated programs enabling all students to achieve their potential.

All learning areas at Sacred Heart are fitted with contemporary learning tools, including Interactive White Boards and computers.

At Sacred Heart we believe in the importance of environmentally sustainable use of resources. This is evident through our use of 3 x 50 0000 litre water tanks and the student vegetable garden.
