FOUNDATION TRANSITION

FOLLOWING CONFIRMATION OF ENROLMENT
Following confirmation of enrolment, students and families are invited to attend the following:
FUNdamentals for Foundation Program Transition Sessions
In Term 3, each Wednesday from 2 September until 21 October 2026 (excluding School Holidays) from 9.15am–10am.
2027 Foundation Orientation Sessions
Held on 10, 18, 26 November and 2 December 2026 from 2pm–3pm.
2027 Foundation Parent Information Session
Held at the same time as the Orientation Session, Thursday 26 November 2026, 2pm–3pm.
Supporting Information
In October, Sacred Heart staff will visit the kindergartens of enrolled Foundation students to gather essential information to best support their transition to our School environment. We also value parent input and encourage parents to contact us with any specific information or concerns before School begins.
Parent Contact List
To provide an opportunity for families to connect and arrange playdates prior to School commencement, we collate and share a list of parent contact details. This is optional; we will only share contact details with your permission.
2027 Commencement Dates
To support smooth transitions, students commence:
• In smaller groups on Friday 29 January 2027 (times to be confirmed)
• As a whole class on Monday 1 February 2027 starting at 8.50am and finishing at 3.25pm.

This more personalised approach promotes a calm and positive start for students as they commence their exciting School year.
February Transition
To further support and enhance student wellbeing, Foundation students do not attend on Wednesdays throughout February to allow for individual student assessments and conversations with parents.
Assessments see Teachers and Learning Support Officers (LSOs) engage in one-on-one sessions with students to observe their learning behaviours and identify each student’s individual point of need.

FEEDER SCHOOLS & PATHWAYS

SECONDARY SCHOOL PATHWAYS
At Sacred Heart, we value strong educational pathways that support our students as they move into secondary school.
Our students benefit from priority enrolment at our formal feeder schools:
• Parade College
• Loyola College
• Catholic Ladies’ College (CLC)

As enrolments for quality secondary education become increasingly competitive, attending Sacred Heart provides a valuable advantage, equipping students with the academic skills, confidence and readiness sought by these colleges.
We work closely with our feeder schools to offer transition programs, orientation visits and collaborative learning experiences, ensuring students move confidently into the next stage of their education.
By choosing Sacred Heart, families provide their child with a pathway that supports smooth transitions, strong secondary school preparation, and continued growth in a supportive, values-driven environment.
